Emmas Place Inc. was formed in 2016 from the childhood memories of Janis Smith and her sister, Brenda Grier. As children, their mom, Miss Emma, always had enough food to share amongst the neighborhood children.

 

Both sisters made sure that Miss Emma's legacy lived on through the establishment of Emmas Place Inc. Emma's Place Inc. is a 501(c)(3) business entity and non-profit organization dedicated to providing essentials to the local community.

 

The non-profit has grown from serving 50-60 people a day to now serving over 150 people a day by distributing more than 50,000 pounds of food a month.
